Story
Hi there,
I have decided to ride in the Sydney 2 CAMberra ride for SIDS and Kids and the Stillbirth Foundation. Please read a bit about my reasons for participating in the ride below.

While my wife was pregnant with our little girl Keira, our beautiful friends Gillian and Gavin also fell pregnant. As it turned out, we were both having girls. We were so excited to be sharing such a special experience at the same time as Gill and Gav and always envisaged our kids growing up together and being a special part of each other’s lives.
On Sunday 10 July 2011, 7 days after the baby was due, Gill and Gav arrived at the hospital where the doctors had discovered that their little girl’s heart was no longer beating.
Layla Emerald Youngman, was born peacefully sleeping on Monday 11 July 2011 at 3.04pm, weighing 2.7kg and measuring 53cm.
Layla touched our hearts on the day she was born and every day since. However the strength and courage of Gillian and Gavin truly inspires us as does the amount of time, effort and love they give to the people around them.
Layla will always be a special part of our family’s life, as will her parents Gillian and Gavin, Layla’s beautiful little sister Adia Indigo and her gorgeous brother Jonah Elvis.

Every year, over 3,000 families are devastated by the sudden and unexpected death of their baby or child. What’s more, 1 in 4 pregnancies end in miscarriage. This has to stop.
Through world-class research, education and support we passionately believe we can put an end to this.
